Xactimate Take Home Exercises

Xactimate is the software choice of most insurance companies today.
Understanding this software program is critical to produce claims in the field.

Amcat has realized the need for practice claims to be made available, whether for refreshing the new adjuster before deployment or to be included along with a resume.   We have now created training claims, for purchase through this website.  These exercises have been crafted to point out various details of the estimating software. 

Students are encouraged to submit practice exercises to Amcat for grading.  Our trainers will “Quality Control” your file and provide feedback.  Grading will be straight-forward, indicating if the file is payable by insurance carriers or if it would be kicked back to the adjuster for corrections.  All files will be scanned and returned to students with hand written corrections from the file reviewer. 

If you do not successfully complete the exercises, our trainers will recommend the student to attend Amcat's 5 day Basic Property Course with Xactimate or Amcat's 3 day Xactimate course at the very least.  Note: Adjuster’s with less than 100 claims will be required to attend the Amcat Basic Course and pass with a 70% or higher before deployment will be considered on any storm event. 

These exercises are designed to be challenging to all levels of adjusting experience.  Again, the purpose is to fine-tune skills and demonstrate the adjuster’s mastery of the software.

Start to Finish - Process

1. Purchase exercises through the shopping cart below.
2. Amcat will confirm your order via phone.  Additionally, we will confirm your mailing address so your exercises arrive in a timely manner at the proper location.
3. Amcat will mail your exercise packet to address provided, via USPS. 
4. After receiving the packet, follow the instructions included and produce your claims in Xactimate.  Submit any questions regarding these exercises to: Xactimate@amcatusa.com
5. Submit completed estimates to Xactimate@amcatusa.com
6. Amcat will e-mail you any corrections within 2 weeks.  You will have one opportunity to re-submit each file, if necessary.

Installing Xactimate  (Version 27.1)

1. Students must go to Xactware.com and request the 15 day demo.   Through this process a 20-digit activation keycode will be issued.  The download of this program typically takes 1-3 Hours.  Please plan accordingly.  Instructions will be included.
