Adjuster NFIP Certification
This course is the officially sanctioned certification course for the National Flood Insurance Program. It is designed to provide adjusters with a comprehensive introduction to the National Flood Insurance Program and the federal laws and rules surrounding the application of coverage and loss adjustment principles. An annual certification is required to handle/adjust claims on behalf of NFIP and the “Write Your Own” carriers authorized by the NFIP. The NFIP is a federal insurance program, supported by a federal law that supersedes all state authority.
This NFIP certification will provide 7 General CE’s for Texas License only.

Requirements
for NFIP Certification
1. Residential, Manufactured (Mobile) Home or Travel Trailer, and Commercial Authorization - To be approved loss under this category, or any combination thereof, an adjuster must:
a. Have at least 4 consecutive years of full-time property loss adjusting experience.
b. Be capable of preparing an accurate scope of damage and dollar estimate to $50,000 for manufactured (mobile) homes/travel trailers and to $500,000 for residential and commercial losses.
c. Have attended an NFIP workshop and be able to demonstrate knowledge of the SFIP and of NFIP adjustment criteria for all policy forms.
d. Be familiar with manufactured (mobile) home/travel trailer and Increased Cost of Compliance adjusting techniques.
2. Large Commercial and RCBAP Authorization - To be approved for Large Commercial or RCBAP losses, or both, an adjuster must:
a. Have at least 5 consecutive years of full-time large-loss property adjusting experience.
b. Be capable of preparing an accurate scope of damage and dollar estimate of $500,000 or more.
c. Submit written recommendations from three insurance company supervisors or claim management personnel. Recommendations must reflect adjusting experience only.
d. Provide information regarding current E&O coverage.

Refund Policy
Tuition may be refunded up to 7 days before the beginning of a class and upon return of all class material. If an adjuster is unable to attend a selected AMCAT course, they may within one year, reschedule the course or select a different course with the same tuition. Amcat may cancel any training at any time; reasons for canceling training would include: lack of attendees, weather and instructor availability or any other circumstance beyond our control. As best practices, Amcat will try to communicate a cancelled course on our website, by e-mailing the student or by phone prior to the course beginning.
